Block Mill Filter Element

Types of filter media used in block mill

The most widely used media is coalescer media due to their surfaces and gradient structures that improve filtration performance. It consists of borosilicate microfiber glass layers. These help to capture fine dust particles to prevent system integrity and improve performance. Stainless steel wire mesh is also one type of media used in block mills to capture metal dirt and other solid dirt particles. Due to their steel construction, they perform more efficiently than other media for solid debris cleaning in the system.

Types of filter assembly used in block mill

  1. Simplex Type
    • The simplex filter assembly is used more for the single-stage filtration processes. They are compact in design and can be placed even in small spaces compared to other assemblies. These oil cleaning units are also suitable to handle high-pressure ratings. Simplex assembly can also be placed in sequence when stage wise filtration is needed.

  2. Duplex Type
    • The duplex filter assembly is another common type used for the uninterrupted continuous filtration processes. They consist of two housings, where both housings are connected with rotary valves to change flow direction during the cleaning of inner elements. These oil units help to interchange and clean filter cartridges without interrupting the cleaning process.
